Our Pastors

Pastor David Jones
wife Kathy, son Lee, and daughthers  Amanda, Kristina, Emily, and Jenna.

David Jones was born on November 4th,  1960 the son of Bill & Doris Jones of Clio,  S.C.   He became a member of Clio First Baptist Church at a very early age.  He graduated High School from Byrdtown Academy,  Hartsville,  South Carolina and began attending Charleston Southern University (then the Baptist College of Charleston) in the late 70s.  It was while he was a full time college student in his early 20s that the Lord was merciful to him and communicated His grace to him.  Through the witness of several influential friends and hearing the Word of God,  David realized his helpless,  sinful condition of being dead in his trespasses.  He surrendered his life to be a disciple of Jesus Christ by confessing his inability to save himself through good works and church membership.   Soon after,  he began serving as a youth pastor at Bath First Baptist Church in Aiken County,  South Carolina.  Having graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education at Charleston Southern University,  He later pursued a career as a Probation/Parole Agent with the State of SC.   As a layman,  David continued to serve the Lord while working for SC Probation,  Parole,  and Pardon Services.  In 1985,  He was married to Kathryn McLean of Bennettsville,  S.C.   David accepted a promotion to Agent-in-Charge of the Darlington County Parole office in 1991.  While there he served the local church as a layman at Central Baptist Church in Darlington,  S.C.  In 1993,  David & Kathy surrendered to pursue full-time ministry.  They moved to Wake Forest,  N.C. where David attended and graduated Southeastern Seminary with a Masters of Divinity in Dec.  1996.  While in N.C.  David,  Kathy and their 3 children attended Faith Baptist Church,  Youngsville,  N.C.  After graduation,  David accepted the call from Harmony Baptist Association and Bethel Baptist Church to plant a church in Fanning Springs,  Florida.  In April 1997,  Fanning Springs Community Church held its first service at the Suwannee River Fair & Livestock Pavilion with 72 people present.  Today,  some 15 years later,  David continues to serve the Lord as pastor of Fanning Springs Community Church.  He and Kathy have 5 wonderful children:  Amanda  (24);  Kristina (21);  Lee (18);  Emily (10);  and Jenna (6).   David counts himself very fortunate to be pastor of FSCC and to be serving Jesus along so many special called-out believers who have been called themselves to serve the Lord in the Fanning Springs area.

Associate Pastor Alan Harmon
wife Maria, sons Tyler and Zachary,
and daughters Kaylee and Lacey.

Alan Harmon -  At the age of 11, Alan, pursued by the Holy Spirit became aware of his depravity and yielded his life to Jesus Christ through faith in God's redemptive work on the Cross. However, during his teenage years, Alan entered a period of rebellion that would take him away from walking in the Spirit and living for God. During this time the Holy Spirit continued to pursue Alan and it become more and more difficult to continue to run from God. At age 18, Alan finally recognized that his dangerous lifestyle was ultimately unfulfilling and leading to a dead-end road. It was at this time that he recommitted his life to walking with the Lord, and resolved to serve the Lord with his whole being. Alan once again became active in church and joined Calvary Chapel in Saint Petersburg, Florida. It was here that Alan was given the opportunity to go on short-term missions trips to Russia and Honduras. In 2002 the Harmon family moved to Chiefland, Florida and shortly thereafter joined Fanning Springs Community Church. Over the next several years Alan served as layman working in various ministry positions including assisting with the Youth Ministry. Around 2008, Alan and Maria started sensing a deeper calling to ministry and began praying about God's direction for their lives. The Harmon family surrendered to the call of ministry in 2011 and Alan was hired on staff at Fanning Springs Community Church where he currently serves as the Associate Pastor and Youth Ministries Director. In 2015 Alan became the Youth Ministry Directory for the 27 churches of the Lafayette Baptist Association.
Alan is currently finishing up his ministry degree with Baptist College of Florida.  Alan enjoys spending time with his family, watching martial arts, and traveling to new places when time and budget will allow.
